The National Science Foundation's Graduate Teaching Fellows in K-12 Education (GK-12) Program supports teaching fellowships for graduate students in the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The UIUC GK-12 Program fellows collaborate with STEM and Education faculty and participating K-12 teachers to integrate the use of computer-based modeling and scientific visualization into science and mathematics education. The emphasis during 2006-09 school years is on quantitative aspects of science and social science.
